New discoveries......Realy? Good greif.
members of the community had a "guided tour".
Isn't this just dandy? NO>
Mr. Beale....the Cherokee people knew this was there.....why do you seem to be so suprised?Eon't you know everything about everything?
4 more acres addded to the expanding site.....
fortified village/partially intact winter houses/about 40 structures were inside the village...Benyshek thinks....they will keep on digging....they are so excited..you know.....
some pottery dates to 1200 B.C./a home dates to 1600 B.C./ealiest spear point dates to 7500 B.C./she states that graves have been found/their work "may" be done late Sept. No work to start until mid-2010.
The airport auth. meet June 30th......less than 24 hours notice given...Corbin stated they did not have to give a notice. Gregory responded that there was no time restraint for replys to be given to those that wrote and sent them in as "they" requested.so we wait......The project engineer Eric Rysden gave a progress report on the site. They voted in the Federal grant money=$712,800. this ariport auth. is concidered a public body and so it is subjectedto the open meetings law......all of it.
since the commissioners ask questions of the archeologist......a meeting was had.Not to mention voting on the Federal grant money. No notice was sent from the county ofices regarding the meeting........once again is seems this group is in violation.Of course the airport attorney was unavailable again.the county clerk was said to have been on vacation/and Pam Ledford was said to have been out sick......they do not have but 2 people that can send a notice to the county news?
Now that is sad.Oh....the county manager...Jack Horton was in a meeting and could not give an answer.......same ole same ole'.for open meeting law go to www.ncleg.net search article 33C or www.ncopengov.org ..........
well....ther you have it.......seems everyone was invited to tromp around the site..........
now that is respect....right? WRONG>
